Southern Missouri Natural Gas Closes $56 Million Private Placement
July-2008 (Houston). In July 2008, SMNG successfully closed a $56 million private placement with Infrastructure Investment Fund (IIF) which is advised by JP Morgan, one of the world’s leading financial institutions. The proceeds will be used to refinance the Company’s existing debt as well as provide the investment capital required for the Company’s planned expansions to Lebanon, Branson, Hollister and Houston, Missouri.
Southern Missouri Natural Gas Receives Approval for Expansions
April-2008 (Houston). In April 2008, SMNG received final regulatory approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission to expand its current operations to provide natural gas service to the communities of Lebanon, Branson, Hollister and Houston, Missouri. These areas represent some of the fastest growing communities in America and include a significant number of industrial, manufacturing and commercial customers which will enhance SMNG’s long-term growth. Currently, these communities have no natural gas service and SMNG’s arrival will provide residents and businesses alike a new choice and the opportunity to significantly reduce their energy costs. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2008 with gas service in late 2008, early 2009.

Capital Partners-Led Consortium Acquires Southern Missouri Gas Company,
L.P.

consortium led by Houston, Texas-based Sendero Capital Partners, Inc.
has acquired 100% of the general and limited partnership interests of
Southern Missouri Gas Company, L.P. (SMGC) after a competitive bidding
process conducted by affiliates of a major natural gas utility. The
private equity group also includes Denver-based CHx Capital, LLC and
